Founded in 1993 by Austria and Switzerland, ICMPD has since expanded to include 20 member countries as of 2023. The organization focuses on migration policy and governance, offering evidence-based solutions, partnerships, and events related to migration issues. Its work encompasses various regions and countries, contributing to better migration management globally. The Regional Office for Western Balkans and Turkey serves as the center of ICMPD’s activities in that region, working with all countries to address migration aspects and enhance migration management in this strategically and operationally significant geography.
