By 13 January, a team was sent back to Wad Madani, providing support at Madani Teaching Hospital to address the needs of the population.

What medical services were offered?

  • Support in emergency room, operation theatre, maternity, inpatient department
  • Mental health care and assistance for sexual violence
  • Training and salary incentives for 240 Ministry of Health staff
  • Food provided for patients

What medical consultations were conducted?

  • Nearly 10,000 outpatient consultations
  • 2,142 antenatal consultations
  • 16 survivors of sexual violence received care

Why was the support suspended?

Due to security concerns and incidents, including looting and staff retention, all support to the facility has been suspended by MSF. Staff has been relocated to safer areas of Sudan.
